Planning Application Approved
February 2024
At the meeting of the City of London Planning Applications Sub-Committee on Tuesday 13 February 2024, Members resolved to grant permission for the planning application for the construction of an operational base for the City of London Police in the car parks at Middlesex Street Estate. The planning consent is subject to the signing of a Section 106 Agreement and compliance with planning conditions.
This means that the design and construction of the Eastern Base will proceed in the coming months.
We would like to thank those of you have given your time and feedback during our consultation, which has resulted in improvements to the scheme such as a refurbished and redesigned podium, a community garden room and enhanced play spaces, a resident’s gym in Unit 20 Gravel Lane and increased and improved cycle storage.
We are committed to working with the local community throughout the construction phase of the project and will continue with Community Steering Groups and other meetings and events to keep you updated on upcoming works.
We will be holding a community meeting on 29 February 2024 at The Space Aldgate, 30 Dukes Place, EC3A 7LP from 6.15pm-7.45pm. Please come along to view a presentation of the final plans, timeline for the works and to meet the contractor, Neilcott. This will be followed by a Q&A session with members of the team.
